Dear family and friends, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Pierre Talec of Little Egg Harbor, NJ U.S. and La Plaine sur Mer, France who passed away on Tuesday, Sept 17, 2024 in Saint-Nazaire, France at the age of 88 from a brief illness after contracting COVID.
Robert Pierre Talec born in Gourin, France on July 12, 1936 was predeceased by his father Jean Talec and his mother Louise Maria Talec, his wife Helen Stachurski Talec and his son Gregory Talec as well as his longtime companion Yvette Jeannine Hortman. He is survived by his daughter Eliane Talec and her husband Frederick F. Stiff IV of New Hope, PA in the United States and his son Phillip Talec and his wife Heather Talec of Iron Station, North Carolina in the United States and his companion Denise Holz of La Plaine sur Mer, France who lovingly cared for him the past several months and his cousins Jean-Paul and Marie Claire Mainguet.
Robert was a true epicurean who enjoyed traveling, art, music, motorsports, rugby and good food as well as living near the ocean.
He retired to his home at the New Jersey shore that was filled with paintings he had created over the years as a hobby and often traveled to France to stay at the family home on the coast of Brittany.
There will be a private ceremony held in France on Friday 27th at 5 pm at the crematorium of La Roche-sur-Yon as well as one in the US where he will be buried with his wife and son. Donations made in his memory can be sent to:

Chère famille et amis, c'est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Robert Pierre Talec de Little Egg Harbor, NJ U.S. et La Plaine sur Mer, France, décédé le mardi 17 septembre 2024 à Saint-Nazaire, France à l'âge de 88 ans d'une brève maladie après avoir contracté la COVID.
Robert Pierre Talec né à Gourin, France le 12 juillet 1936 a été précédé dans la mort par son père Jean Talec et sa mère Louise Maria Talec, son épouse Helen Stachurski Talec et son fils Gregory Talec ainsi que sa compagne de longue date Yvette Jeannine Hortman. Il laisse dans le deuil sa fille Eliane Talec et son mari Frederick F. Stiff IV de New Hope, PA aux États-Unis et son fils Phillip Talec et sa femme Heather Talec d'Iron Station, Caroline du Nord aux États-Unis et sa compagne Denise Holz de La Plaine sur Mer, France qui a pris soin de lui avec amour ces derniers mois et ses cousins Jean-Paul et Marie Claire Mainguet.
Robert était un véritable épicurien qui aimait les voyages, l'art, la musique, les sports mécaniques, le rugby et la bonne cuisine ainsi que vivre près de l'océan. Il se retirait dans sa maison sur la côte du New Jersey qui était remplie de peintures qu'il avait créées au fil des ans comme passe-temps et se rendait souvent en France pour séjourner dans la maison familiale sur la côte bretonne.
Une cérémonie aura lieu au crématorium de La Roche-sur-Yon le vendredi 27 septembre à 17h00. Une cérémonie privée sera également organisée aux États-Unis où il sera enterré avec sa femme et son fils.
